dig Lani
Lani

We dug Lani from the moment we laid eyes on her when she was eight weeks old. Small enough to fit in the palm of our hands and quiet as a mouse, she was a cuddly, “stuffed” bear who stole our hearts.

One of eight puppies Lani, a Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier came into this world on May 19, 1993. Just like Marie in “That Girl” Lani hailed from Brewster, New York, but moved to the Big Apple and like Marie she grew up to be a lovable independent, dependent girl.

At six months, Lani had mastered elevator and lobby etiquette. However, her terrier and Taurean stubbornness prevailed as four years passed before she learned to “sit and stay” when someone rang our doorbell. We dug Lani because of her spirited determination and because she was equally comfortable snoozing with us on the sofa, as she was romping through the woods chasing critters faster than she.

Friends and family dug Lani because they could always count on her to greet them with her doggy dance.

Even though she’s been gone since November 5, 2004, our love affair with her continues.
