We all want what's best for our pooches, and although making their food sounds like a good idea, many of us have trouble making our own meals daily, let alone preparing meals for our loyal companions (feeding them left overs is NOT the answer!).
Preparing food for your pooch requires time and a complete understanding of their dietary needs: two things many of us don't have. For those of you who feel guilty about not being able to, or perhaps not wanting to, cook for your pooch....relax, there are many manufacturers of organic dog foods in the US, you just need to track them down. Start off with an on-line search and once you've located several companies (you may even find some locally), call them up and ask them questions about their products. Are they truly organic, do they have any organic certifications, what else do they manufacture?
For those of you who do want to cook for your pet, ask your vet for recipes. Many are availbable online, but like anything available on-line check out the source.
Finally, stay informed, bookmark the FDA for the most accurate and most current recall information.
