Who’s training whom? Always remember that your pup is an impressionable little girl ready to please. So, when you first start training, be sure to use her name and the command a single time (do not repeat the command more than once) and then guide her to success. Praise her profusely each time she successfully completes a command and enhance the praise with a treat every other time.

After several times, she should start completing the command with less guidance until eventually she obeys the command on her own. For your sake and hers, keep your sessions to no more than five minutes; repeat each exercise over and over.
